Jake Krupa and Naomi Brouse - Sing Your Heart Out
This past summer my very beautiful cousin and one of my best friends married the man of her dreams. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon in September. A simple backyard wedding at Jake’s parents home set high a top the rolling hills of Bancroft, Ontario.
It was an honor to stand as one of Naomi’s bridesmaids and also as their photographer. Assisting me with photography that day was my incredible boyfriend, Jesse.
It was a beautiful day full of laughter and tears! Enjoy!

So, it’s winter up here in Geraldton. Not just the nice kind of winter where you can go outside in some “uggs” and a wool coat, no this is full blown sorel knee highs under a parka kind of winter! I can’t believe all this snow!
Anyways, what do you do to occupy yourself when your stuck inside for the snowy winter season? Here’s what I’m doing…
- Listening to some rockin’ tunes - check out “Medicine” by Grace Potter and The Nocturnals
- Sipping a little vino while gathering inspiration for an upcoming watercolor class!
- Oh and did I mention I enrolled in a watercolor course! (YAY!) I’m really looking forward to it, the last time I painted with watercolor was back in junior high. Here’s to hoping I can remember some of it…
I’m having a hard time finding images I want… I have found many images I would LOVE to paint. The problem with that is I need to be able to draw them first! I could go the “easy” route and paint a distant landscape, but I’m a PORTRAIT photographer, I’m inspired by people! I keep leaning towards images of wrinkly old men. hahaha. Class is on Wednesday, wish me luck! OR Better yet, send me some inspiration!
:an excerpt from a very touching letter written by a woman and mother to her photographer.
You may or may not have already seen this letter, it has been seen circling facebook for the past few weeks. If you haven’t already read it, I strongly urge you to go read it.
I think this is a very strong reminder of how important the moments we spend together truly are. Capture these moments. Don’t let them pass you by before you get a chance to preserve the memory. One day when your children are grown and loved ones may be gone… there comes a time when an image is the only tangible thing you have left.
Please take this and remember it, remember to take photographs and to be photographed. Invest in your families memories today to keep them for tomorrow.
